Materials Required To Make A Dropper
- 1 Redstone dust
- 7 Cobblestones
Steps To Craft A Dropper
Step 1. Open Your Crafting Menu
To create an eyedropper, we first open your artboard in Minecraft. You should see the same grid as in the image below.
Step 2. Add The Redstone And Cobblestones To The Menu
On the crafting table, add the Redstone powder and 7 pavers to the grid.
You need to add the items to the grid exactly as shown in the image below. In the first row, place 3 pavers, one in each box. In the second row, place 1 paver in the first box and 1 paver in the third box. In the third row, place 1 paver in the first box, 1 redstone powder in the second box, and 1 paver in the third box. This is the Minecraft dropper recipe.
Now that you’ve added the items to the grid as described above, you’ll notice an eyedropper appear in the box on the right.
Step 3. Move The Dropper To Your Inventory
After creating the pipette, you need to drag it to your inventory to use it.
That is! You now have a dropper. Minecraft droppers are blocks that can be used as storage containers, containing 9 items, or as a redstone component for moving items.

1. How do you power a dropper in Minecraft?
A dropper can be activated by:
- an adjacent active power component (Exceptions: a redstone torch does not turn ON a dropper it is attached to)
- an adjacent powered opaque block (strongly-powered or weakly-powered)
- a powered redstone repeater or redstone comparator facing the dropper.
2. How do you make a dropper work automatically?
Put one block on top of the comparator and another on the redstone dust behind the solid block from the first step, as shown in the image. Between them, place one redstone dust. The redstone loop created by the comparator will now activate the dropper whenever there is an item in it.
3. Does a dropper need Redstone?
A dropper is handy for faster transportation and will help players store items away faster. In order to make a dropper in Minecraft, players will need to place seven cobblestones and one redstone in the crafting grid.
4. How does a dropper work in Minecraft?
The Dropper will drop items from its inventory, but instead of using the block or firing a projectile like the Dispenser, it drops the version of the item that players can pick up. For example, if you place a Water Bucket in a Dispenser, water will flow out.
5. What do Dispensers and droppers do in Minecraft?
A dropper drops whatever is inside of it when a player gives it a redstone cue/signal. A dropper is very similar to something called a dispenser in Minecraft. The only difference between the two is that droppers just drop items, while dispensers actually place or shoot items.
6. What activates a dropper?
A dropper can be activated by: an adjacent active power component (Exceptions: a redstone torch does not turn ON a dropper it is attached to) an adjacent powered opaque block (strongly-powered or weakly-powered) a powered redstone repeater or redstone comparator facing the dropper.
To put a button or lever directly on the side of a dispenser, put a glass block next to it and place the lever/button on top of it.
8. How do you attach a dropper to a chest?
If you place the chest, then hold shift and right-click the chest while holding the hopper the hopper should “snap” to the chest, like in my picture below on the left (ignore the gap). If I put stuff in the hopper on the left, the items get pulled through to the chest.
