In this tutorial you will learn how to make a pickaxe in Minecraft. We’ll even show you how to make all different picks, including diamond, iron, stone, wood, and gold picks.

A Minecraft pickaxe is the most commonly used tool in the game. It is used to extract minerals, rocks and blocks at higher speeds.

  • 2 Sticks
  • 3 planks, cobblestones, iron ingots, gold ingots, OR diamonds

Steps To Craft A Pickaxe

1. Open Your Crafting Menu

First, let’s open your creation menu in Minecraft. You should see the same grid as in the image below.

2. Add Pickaxe Items To The Crafting Table

To the craft table, add the 2 sticks and, depending on the type of pick you want to make, the 3 planks, cobblestones, iron bars, gold bars or diamonds to the grid.

You need to add each item to the crafting grid exactly as shown in the image below. In this example we will make a diamond pickaxe.

In the first row, place 3 diamonds, one in each square. In the second row, place 1 stick in the middle square. In the 3rd row, place 1 dc in the middle square. This is the Minecraft diamond pickaxe recipe. If you want to make a different kind of pick, replace the diamonds with planks, cobblestones, iron bars or gold bars, depending on the type of pick you want to make.

Now that you’ve added the items to the crafting grid as described above, you’ll see a diamond spike in the box on the right.

3. Move The Pickaxe To Your Inventory

Just drag the pickaxe to your inventory so you can use it.

That is! Now you have a peak. A Minecraft pickaxe is the most commonly used tool in the game. It is used to extract minerals, rocks and blocks at higher speeds.
