FAQ’s

1. How do you make an anchor respawn in Minecraft?

Crafting Recipe
To craft a Respawn Anchor, you will need 6 Crying Obsidian and 3 Glowstone. You can acquire Crying Obsidian from bartering, broken portals, loot chests, and more. Glowstone is simply found in the Nether, typically on ceilings.

2. Why does my respawn anchor not work?

When you’ve got one (details on how to craft a Respawn Anchor in Minecraft below), you need to charge it with Glowstone. You do need to ensure the surrounding area is not obstructed however, otherwise you’ll see “You have no home bed or charged respawn anchor, or it was obstructed” when you die.

3. How many times can you use a respawn anchor?

What does a Respawn Anchor do? A respawn anchor is a block that allows you to set a respawn point in the nether. It is charged with glowstone blocks and can hold up to four charges. Therefore the respawn anchor can respawn you up to four times.

4. Can you pick up a Respawn anchor?

Respawn anchors can be harvested with any pickaxe at or above diamond tier (diamond/netherite).

5. How do you charge a Respawn anchor?

Right-clicking on the respawn anchor with a block of glowstone in hand will charge the anchor. Four glowstone blocks can be added. Once the respawn anchor is fully charged, the middle’s gold circle will be fully lit up. Players can then right-click the anchor again to set their spawn point.

6. Why am I respawning in the end?

The respawn anchor overrides your bed.
If you’re using a respawn anchor, that’s your new respawn point. If you die in the Overworld or the End, you’ll respawn here instead of a bed. To set your respawn point back somewhere else, you’ll just need to sleep in a bed there.
